So the way Pearl Jam works their fanclub tickets is that you get to buy two tickets for each show that they play through them. The tickets come in pairs and you pick them up at the Will Call window at the venue, waiting in line with other members of the Ten Club (Pearl Jam’s fanclub). You don’t know what kind of seats you have until you get your tickets.

Typically, Sandra and I usually have pretty average tickets. Not bad, by any stretch, but not amazing either. Generally, we’re off to the side in the first section with a good view of the stage, but seated. This works out good for us, because I’m claustrophobic and don’t particularly like being on the floor, and Sandra’s too short to be on the floor unless we’re right up at the front, which we’ve never been. At the Gorge show, we were on the floor because it was an outside venue and that’s all there was were floor seats. But we were a little ways back. It was a good show, but not ideal seating (standing really) arrangements. Plus it was hot as fuck there.

BUT, there is something that the Ten Club does, which is a lottery system. They set aside a group of really excellent seats and then randomly (or so we’re told) pick a few Ten Club numbers (you get a registration number, which represents your seniority within in the Ten Club… so if you’ve got a really low number, it means that you’ve been a member for a really long time and typically get better seats. Our number is pretty high, since we’ve only been in the Ten Club for five or six years, unlike some people who joined when the first album came out in the early nineties) and those lucky Ten Club members get the kickass seats. That’s the lottery.

Sandra won the lottery today. I thought she was going to pass out. She couldn’t talk or anything. She was just like “Uh… I uh… is this real life?”

So yes, that does in fact “Floor – Row 2 – Seats 36 and 37” which is just right to to center stage.

Sandra is losing her shit she’s so excited. I’m pretty excited. I’m excited for the good seats, but I’m even more excited for Sandra, who is over the moon.
